Hovenweep National Monument turns 100 in 2023!
100 years of park, thousands more of culture.
Hovenweep protects six ancestral Puebloan communities across southeastern Utah and southwestern Colorado. The ancestral Puebloans lived in the Four Corners area from about 500 to 1300 common era and built the towers there in the 13th century.
Hovenweep National Monument was established in 1923 to preserve the structures for future generations.
