Moab Man is part of a rock art panel on a prominent rocky bluff in Moab, Utah. The panel is thought to have been created by the Fremont people, likely dating from A.D. 1000 to A.D. 1200. Fremont rock art is typically petroglyphs (carved, not painted). Their human-like figures usually have trapezoidal bodies and many have ear bobs, headdresses and elaborate necklaces.
