A driving guide for scenic Highway 128 just north of Moab. Known to locals as "the river road", this route winds through the sublime red-rock geology of the Colorado River gorge. As you travel up this road, you may feel like you have been transported into the set of a western movie. In fact, several locations along the river have been backdrops for films from John Ford's 1939 classic Wagon Master to the more recent Thelma & Louise and Gold Member.
