Black bears are only found in North America. They typically reside in the forested areas and are excellent tree climbers. They are omnivorous and many live in human populated areas and often raid bird feeders and garbage cans. Females give birth to cubs while hibernating in the winter. The cubs will stay with their mothers for two years.
